We are looking to redevelop our existing HR content on our firms intranet, making the content more user friendly/relevant. Has anyone been through this exercise recently or does anyone know good examples of HR intranets.

Thanks,

Isaac

Hi there,

Part of my role at work is the HR intranet content manager. We were the first department to set anything up and we are the department who everyone else mirrors in terms of what goes on their microsites. I'd be happy to send you some screen prints of how we've laid everything out. The whole intranet is still very much in it's infancy and is constantly changing but we are finding more and more of the company are using it.

Kind regards,

HR Advisor

Hi,

Screen prints would be very useful. My email address can be seen in my profile.

Would you be able to send me screen prints also. I look after all the HR info on our Intranet site and am planning to restructure as colleagues find it difficult to navigate. Would love to see how other companies publish their info.

Hi

I have been tasked with updating our Company intranet including the HR section and was wondering if you could help me?

I would be grateful of any guidance and/or examples you might be able to give me.

Thank you in advance.

Gemma

Isaac, get the tone, style and content right before working on fancy hi-tech gizmos. It really just comes down to having someone who can write the sort of stuff you want in the sort of not-too-heavy style that makes people interested enough to want to read it. (If it can't be a little bit light hearted with the occasional sideways look at life, how can you expect to catch the reader's interest for more than a minute at at time?)

Additionally of course, it has to have a serious up to the minute message and I would have thought, it should illustrate the work of your organisation by drawing on your successes. Getting your users to explain their experiences in their own words can be a useful advert as well as a powerful way to make a point.

Happy to have a chat if you want.

Professor,

Interesting you mention tone. We are trying to rewrite various policies for the intranet and finding it a challenge. Have you had any experince of writing policy documents for intranets?

Thanks Isaac
